Double Win For Majka as Malta Force Dominate

Majka took pole position by 0.262 from Frank Hamming, who put a good lap in to be alongside on the front row. Andrzejewski would have been a bit disappointed to be down in 4th compared to his team mate, and it affected his race somewhat, as he was only able to finish 3rd behind Hamming. Majka, though, won by over 17 seconds, which is a comfortable margin in sprint racing.

There was some drama, as Mika Hakimi and Oliver Taras came to blows. They were squabbling for the entirety of the first and second sector on lap 14, and as Lahtinen came out of the pits, it was Roszak who tried to go around the outside of Taras into turn 1. However, he missed his braking point, and smashed into the back of Hakimi, leaving Taras with nowhere to go and putting both out on the spot.

Roszak ended up P4 but ultimately it will be down to the stewards to see if he keeps it or not.

Race 2 saw the top 6 reversed, giving the Malta Force drivers the best opportunity possible in FS1 to move through the pack, and so it transpired. By lap 17, they were second and third, and Lahtinen was doing his best to hold on in first. Majka overtook his team mate and set about the Finn. On lap 20 he was ahead, having gone side by side through the first few corners, and so it ended.

Lahtinen dropped back massively in the last few laps, his tyres struggling. He ended up P5, behind Pawel, Roszak and Hamming.

Still the driver’s fight is so close, between the two Malta Force entries. You would think, barring a miracle now, it will be a victory for one of those in 2025.
